Privacy Policy

A-Service (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at aservice.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this site, why we collect it, and how it’s protected. We are a small independent auto repair shop located at 15903 Stony Plain Rd, Edmonton, AB T5P 3Z7, and we follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which governs how private-sector organizations in Alberta handle personal information.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly: when you submit our appointment request form on the Contact page, we receive your name, phone number, the service you’re asking about, and any message you write. The form sends that request to our shop inbox through Resend, an email delivery provider acting on our behalf. We use it only to respond to your request and schedule service — we don’t sell or rent this information to anyone.

Information collected automatically: if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — pages viewed, approximate location (city-level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated, non-identifying usage data that helps us improve the site. It is not collected until you accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses a single category of non-essential cookies: analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, and only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you click “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies for this site, which will show the banner again.

Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC. You can read Google’s own privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy. The Contact page also embeds a Google Map, which may load content from Google regardless of the cookie choice above, in the same way any embedded map would.

How we use your information

• To respond to appointment requests and questions
• To provide the service you’ve booked with us
• To understand site usage and improve content (only with analytics consent)

We do not use your information for automated marketing emails or text messages unless you separately opt in to that, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.

Data retention

Appointment request emails are kept as long as reasonably needed for service records and customer history, then deleted or archived. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics according to Google’s standard retention settings.

Your rights

Under Alberta PIPA, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
